Check it yourself, four ways
- Walk it as the customer. Replay the real photo walk, one step at a time, with a job switch.
- Work the morning after. Open the sample desk: six calls, five job plans, no sign-in.
- Load the truck once. Luis's job sheet: what is known, what to bring, what is still unknown. The brief lists the night in dispatch order.
- Hear it answer as your business. Start setup: three questions, then a number to call for 30 minutes.
What your company gets
- The owner Every call becomes a lead with pictures, the door's size and the job type. You see which jobs are worth the drive before anyone leaves.
- The dispatcher A desk of the night's calls, photos in or waiting. Quote or qualify from the screen, then send one truck, once.
- The tech The door, the opener label, the spring and the bottom corners before the truck is loaded. On opener jobs, a short video with sound of the door moving. A job sheet that says what to bring. The right part on the first trip.
- The customer One text, one photo at a time, and a voice that says when the shot is good. No one comes out just to look.
What your customer hears
A customer who sends three photos from the driveway has done the site visit for you.
- One photo at a time.
- A safety line first, where the job needs one.
- A word when the photo is good, and a plain ask when it is not.
- The checker says what it sees. It does not say what is wrong.
Every line, word for word
Stand in the driveway and get the whole garage door in the shot.
Find the motor on the ceiling. Photograph its label with the model number.
Stay on the ground. Use your camera's zoom.
From inside, photograph the whole inside of the door, just as it is now.
Leave the door where it is. Do not stand under it.
Photograph the springs. Most doors have a coil on a bar above the door. Some have long springs on the left and right.
Please do not touch the spring or the cables. Stand back and zoom in.
Photograph the bottom corner of the door where the cable meets the bracket. Both sides if one shot can't show both.
Do not touch the cable or the bracket. They are under high tension. Stand back and zoom in.
Photograph the left track from the floor to the ceiling.
Now the right track, floor to ceiling.
From inside, standing back, photograph the wall and ceiling just above the door opening.
Stay on the ground. Use your camera's zoom.
What on this page is real
Real: the words of the photo walk, the shapes of the checker's lines, the permission question (riff's own line), the shape of the owner's text, and the survey plans the asks come from.
Made up: every caller, the voices of the sample call, the pictures (drawings), and the sample desk's night.
Some of the desk's words on this page are sample wording.
Straight answers
Does it quote the job?
No. It puts the pictures, the sizes and the job type in front of you. You quote.
Does it decide which jobs to take?
No. You do. It shows you the job first.
Does it replace the site visit?
It replaces the visit whose only purpose was to look. The repair visit still happens, with the right part.
Does it diagnose from the photo?
No. The checker says what is visible and whether the shot is usable, nothing more.
Does it take video?
Only on opener jobs, and only when the customer says the door still moves: about five seconds with sound. No software looks at a video. It goes to you just as it was shot.
Who sees the photos?
Your company. The customer is told each photo is checked by a model on our own machine, and can skip the checks.
What if she says no to the text?
Nothing is sent. The line records a clear yes or no, and the desk never offers a text to someone who said no.
What if a photo is bad?
The checker says what it needs and asks once more. The customer can skip a shot.
Which jobs does the garage line know?
Five job plans today: Garage door survey, Replace the whole door, Replace the opener, Replace the springs, and Seal the bottom of the door. Each one asks for a different list of photos.
